To StarWars, or not to StarWars? that is the question…

FOXNews.com is carrying a story (pseudo-interview) with George Lucas. Here are some of the high lights

  • “It’s Silly” (in reference to Spiderman 3)
  • Sean Connery has still not signed on for the cast of Indiana Jones 4.
  • he plans on making two more live action Star Wars movies. “But they won’t have members of the Skywalker family as characters,” he said. “They will be other people of that milieu.”

Really? Interesting. Both movies are expected to be about an hour long, and will be made for TV. No idea what channels they will air on at this time though. As much as I love the idea that there will be more Star Wars movies for me to collect and own, I cant help be listen the the voice in the back of my head. The one that is saying “Ewok Xmas Special Redeux”. Let’s face it everything that was made for TV so far to date (that wasn’t animated) has been complete garbage.

Goodbye Stargate SG-1… its been a good run.

Well it was a good run, but the SCI FI Channel confirmed that it will not renew its record-breaking original series Stargate SG-1 for another season. For those of you who haven’t been paying attension, SG-1 is the longest running American science fiction TV show ever, with 10 seasons, and 215 episodes.

They have decided to continue with Stargate: Atlantis however. More information on both can be found at:

scifi.com

I can’t help but wonder how many of the characters are going to cross over into the Atlantis storyline. I also hope that they can somewhat wrap up the story, and some of the loose ends, just for closure sake.

the West Wing

So I’ve been watching the West Wing (on NBC, http://www.nbc.com) for quite a while now. I had to catch up on the first few seasons, thank goodness for ReplayTV. Last night was the “Live Debate” episode. I watched it after the fact (thank goodness for DVRs, especially since I could fast forward through the Ellen Degenerous commentary).

If you have ever watched a real “live” debate, you should note that this episode shows us how they should be. Not how they are. Let’s face it real live debates are more heavily scripted then this fictional one. If you did watch it, don’t forget that you can go and vote on who you think won the debate. At of 10am today it was at:

Who do you think won the debate?
Santos 70%
Vinick 30%

Maybe you should consider that more people voted for the last “American Idol” then voted in the last presidential election.
