Pangu

Pangu is a primordial being from Chinese mythology credited with creating the universe. In early myth, the cosmos began as a chaotic, egg-like mass in which Pangu slept for thousands of years. Upon awakening, he split the chaos into heaven and earth, holding them apart as they grew. After Pangu’s death, his body transformed into the elements of the natural world—his breath became wind, his eyes the sun and moon, and his body mountains and soil. Though later than some Chinese creation traditions, the myth of Pangu became influential as a symbolic explanation of cosmic order, balance, and the origins of the physical world.
