Mulan

Mulan is a legendary figure from Chinese folklore, best known from the poem *The Ballad of Mulan*. According to the story, Mulan disguises herself as a man to take her elderly father’s place in the army, serving bravely for many years. After earning great honor for her courage and skill, she refuses high office and returns home, revealing her identity. Mulan is remembered as a symbol of loyalty, bravery, and devotion to family. Mulan was brought into the mainstream media when Disney released a movie by the same title in 1998.
