Ankhesenamun

Ankhesenamun was an ancient Egyptian queen of the 18th Dynasty, best known as the wife of the young pharaoh Tutankhamun. She was the daughter of Pharaoh Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti and was born during a time of major religious change in Egypt. As a child, she lived in the city of Amarna, where her father promoted the worship of the sun god Aten. Ankhesenamun later married Tutankhamun, helping restore traditional Egyptian religious practices after Akhenaten’s reign. After Tutankhamun’s early death, her life becomes less clear, though she is remembered for a famous letter she likely sent to a foreign king asking for a husband, showing her unusual position and influence in a male-dominated royal world.
