Quetzalcoatl

Quetzalcoatl was a major deity in ancient Mesoamerica, best known among the Aztecs. His imagery and worship date back much earlier to cultures such as Teotihuacan (c. 200–750 CE). His name means “Feathered Serpent,” and he was associated with wind, knowledge, creation, and the planet Venus. In Aztec religion, Quetzalcoatl was regarded as a creator figure, a patron of priests and learning, and was often identified with the wind god Ehecatl. Variants of the feathered-serpent deity also appeared across Mesoamerica, including Kukulkan among the Maya, reflecting a widespread and long-standing religious tradition.

In modern popular culture, Quetzalcoatl appears in many video games as a mythological figure or motif. Examples include Final Fantasy XIV, Shin Megami Tensei V, Smite, and Civilization VI, where he is represented in various narrative or unit roles. Additionally, the mobile game Quetzi (2024) reimagines the classic Snake genre with Teotihuacan-inspired puzzle gameplay featuring a feathered serpent character drawn from the Quetzalcoatl tradition.

When this hero is defeated, revive 2 allies with 50% HP and increase their {INIT} by 5% (stacking up to 3 times). Occurs once per wave.
