Realms: EGC Meeting is done

The Event Goers Council Meeting has come and gone. Rel as moderator was very efficient (even if he was admittedly in a hurry to make it to a Super Bowl party). He kept things on track, and as in the past did a good job of keeping things moving and orderly. My hat off to you.

Once again this year I did not vote at this meeting. In the effort of not having to explain again why not, simply put, I am an event holder. I have my vote at the EHC Meeting in a few weeks.

Once again this year I did not vote at this meeting. In the effort of not having to explain again why not, simply put, I am an event holder. I have my vote at the EHC Meeting in a few weeks.

There were some interesting proposals again this year, here are some of the highlights:

Megan’s – Allow multiple spell options per circle in paths – which simply put allows us to add more then one spell in a given circle in the spell progression Paths. This gets rid of the need to symmetrically add spells and/or having to move or remove existing spells to get something new into the system.

Jason’s – Ticks Per Year – which lowers the number of ticks each player has removed from the list to 1 a year instead of all of them.

Ian’s – 7th C: New Spell: Healing Boon – which gives Healers a choice between a mini-DI and using a Cry of Life (current 7th circle spell).

and finally the big one this year:

Bright and Rel’s – The Aspect System – Which completely replaces the character creation section, the spell system, and also adds a series of “abilities” to the game.

Besides the fact that most of the meeting was made up of Event Holders, I think that my biggest disappointment was that The Pool System (part 1) and Part 2 didn’t go on to the EHC Meeting for further discussion. I’m still not entirely sure if I would have even voted for it, but SirCallin, SirVawn, Jason, Mike, and I spent a good chunk of time working on it, and would have liked to hear what the other 50 EHs (that weren’t at the EGC) thought about it.

Overall I would have to say that the meeting went pretty well, even if it was a little longer then I thought it would be. I believe that we had about 35 people in attendance.
